Student Organizations

LALINK (the Literature and Language Club of Northern Kentucky University) is a student organization whose purposes are to stimulate interest in literature and language, to facilitate extracurricular academic interests among faculty and students, and to sponsor social and academic activities that will enhance students' educational experience at Northern Kentucky University. Some recent activities of LALINK include fund-raising activities such as contributing to the Thad Lindsey Scholarship Fund. Membership in LALINK is open to all students interested in language, literature, and writing, especially those majoring or minoring in English or minoring in a foreign language. Further information on LALINK and its activities is available from the organization's faculty sponsor and is posted on the bulletin board outside of the Department of Literature and Language office.

Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honor society for students with exemplary academic achievement in their major. The local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, Pi Omega, was founded in 1990. The purposes of Sigma Tau Delta are to confer distinction on students for high achievement in the study of English language and literature on local campuses and to foster the discipline of English in all its aspects, including creative and critical writing. English majors are selected for membership on the basis of total semester hours of university work, number of hours of work completed in English, and grade point average in English classes.
