Prosperous Rural Families in the 1920's

The 1920's did not only bring inventions to modernize urban families.  Rural families could now cut the time some of their chores significantly, allowing for more work to be done in one day.  Rural families could now get to towns and cities much faster and easier than before due to the automobile.  However, this is the only account we have that illustrates this type of a rural family.

My grandfather's family benefited from the tractor.  The First tractor on their farm was a Fordson tractor.  It made their job a lot easier, making it less time consuming to plow.  Both of my grandparent's families also bought washing machines made by Maytag.  The model T-Ford was also beneficial to both of my grandparents.  The new Ford made it easy for families to get around town.
