Every
male on my grandparent's side went into World War II. My grandpa's
brother, Ray, was involved in the invasion of France and he was in the
signal corps. My grandma had three brothers in the war. One
was in the marines and he was sent overseas. He said the trip over
the Pacific was the worst part. Another brother was in the navy and
the other was in the signal corps. He went overseas. My grandpa
was was a staff sergeant for the air force. My grandfather and many
other men prepared to go overseas but never had to. my grandmother
remembers the attack on Pearl harbor on the radio. Everyone in the
family was shocked because they never thought the Japanese could get that
close. My grandpa still to this day has a twenty-five dollar bill
which is sixty years old. It is now worth sixty dollars. my
grandma worked in a grocery store during the war while my grandfather was
in the air force. She made only ninety dollars every two weeks.
