Navy:
3 Stories For One Family

A U.S. Fleet

In my family there were three members involved in WWII.  Some saw service and others did not.  My Great Uncle Sam Ratiner was a mechanic on a ship in the Pacific.  Another was my Great Uncle Irving Tave was  a baker.  He learned how to make the best corn muffins I have ever had.  neither of these two saw battle.  The last was my grandfather Sam Siegal, he was exempt from service because he was just over 27 and had a child.
