Mini Anthology Assignment

ENG 351, l9th-Century American Literature (Dickinson and James)

Fall 2001, Robert K. Wallace

Preliminary Instructions and Sign-up Sheet for the Dickinson Mini-Anthology Groups:

Our mini anthology presentations will be made on December 6 by five groups of four students each. Each group will be responsible for distributing its list of the 20 most important Emily Dickinson poems and for explaining the criteria by which the selection was made. The list distributed by each group must (a) identify each poem by first line and Johnson number and (b) provide a brief, clear summary of the selection criteria used.

Each group will have the entire class period on October 18 to begin making its preliminary plans. The five groups of four will be formed at the beginning of class on October 11, when I will collect one copy of this instruction/sign-up sheet from each group. Each group will be allowed to "Select its own Society."
