Group Ones's Anthology

Compiled By Mark Goins, Gretchen Heidel,
Scott Lucke and Joel Spencer

Selection Criteria:

To be included in our anthology a poem must clearly represent one of the four main themes of Dickinson's poetry: Death, Nature, Love and Religion/God. The expression of the theme must also be clear, although the meaning of the poem may not necessarily be. It also must be representative of her work in general and of the particular theme specifically. The poem must transcend time and be as relevant today as it was when she wrote it. An effective use of structure and creative use of symbolism are also factors in choosing the anthologized poems.
