Instructional Leadership
Instructional Leadership in the College of Education and Human Services offers graduate programs, certification, and courses designed to prepare school personnel for effective leadership as principals, supervisors and superintendents.
Principal Preparation MA.Ed./Rank 1:Principal Preparation
The Master of Arts in Education and Rank 1 in Instructional Leadership will lead to principal P-12 certification in Kentucky. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for administrative positions as elementary, middle school, and secondary principals.
Supervisor of Instruction Rank 1 Certificate
This certificate prepares students as educational leaders for the Instructional Supervisor position in P-12 schools. Candidates for the Rank 1 status must have obtained a masters degree.
School Superintendent Certification
The Professional Certificate for School Superintendent is a 12 hour certificate. Candidates interested in certification as a superintendent must meet admission requirements including principal certification. The School Superintendent Certification program hours can be applied towards the Rank 1 status.
