Programming Advisory Committee

Mission

The mission of the Programming Advisory Committee (PAC) is to strengthen the work of the NKU Early Childhood Center by giving advisement and direction to support programs for parent involvement and special programming for the children, student parents,  faculty/staff and surrounding community members.

Purpose

The purpose of the NKU ECC PAC is to serve as an advisory committee for the NKU Early Childhood Center to provide input to the programs and activities that will enhance the parent involvement of the CENTER, make recommendations concerning program operation, long-range planning, professional development for staff, fund raising and program evaluation, and to operate on a non-profit basis solely for charitable and educational endeavors conducive to the well being of the CENTER and its students.

As part of the above mentioned purposes, the committee will serve as liaison among individual classroom parents and center administration towards the maintenance of an on-campus, high quality, affordable child care facility whose primary purpose is to serve the child care needs of student parents; ensure on-going NAEYC Accreditation and participation in the KY STARS for KIDS NOW Quality Rating System and provide community outreach and advocacy on behalf of children, parents, and teachers.    This group is solely an advisory committee; it shall not act as a governing board. Northern Kentucky University and the Division of Student Affairs are responsible for the governance of the CENTER.

The NKU ECC PAC is an important addition to the establishment and maintenance of programs offered by the Early Childhood Center.  The early care and education profession in Kentucky is ever changing, creating an increased need for effective communication between education, business and policy makers.
