How to Register

NKU Prospective Students: To receive accommodations, students with a disability must register with the Office of Disability Services and provide current documentation of a disability.

Students delaying registration and request for accommodation may delay  their access to accommodations.  Professors will require that a student's need for classroom and/or exam accommodations is verified through Disability Services.

Steps to register:

Note: Documentation of a disability should be current (within the last 3-5 years) and provided by an appropriate licensed professional.  The Kentucky Association on Higher Education and Disability (KY AHEAD) has published information regarding approved assessment instruments.

The Office of Disability Services will contact you for an accommodation review and orientation after we receive your documentation.

Planning for reasonable accommodations is an important step for a smooth transition to college.  Reasonable accommodations are provided at no expense to the student and are based upon the individual student’s need and documentation.  Reasonable accommodations will be discussed with the Assistant Director, Cindy Knox at (859) 572-5180, University Center, room 101.

To continue to receive accommodations, you must contact The Office of Disability Services with your new class schedule each semester.
