John Gilbert was in the Air Force before he married Mildred CREMINS. While in the Air Force in CA, John Gilbert was married. His wife died in childbirth, but the children, twin girls, survived. The dead mother's family is said to have raised them. They are said to have both become nuns in California.
He married Mildred Catherine CREMINS - 55, daughter of Phillip Joseph CREMINS - 65 & Mary Ann BERNING - 66, in St. Cecelia Church, Oakley, OH. Born 3 Jan 19071 in Cinti, OH. Died 18 Feb 1984 in Bellevue, Campbell Co. KY. Buried in St. Joseph's Cem., Wilder, Campbell Co. KY.
Mildred took after her mother in crocheting and sewing. She crocheted a large picture (about 24 x 36) of the Last Supper. Mildred was said to have the most musical talent in the family. She played piano. Her younger sister, Martha WOLF, claims that Mildren used to play the piano and read a book at the same time.
