Ombuds Services

The role of the Ombuds Services Office, housed in the Dean of Students Office and the Vice President of Student Affairs Office, is a varied one that includes providing and receiving information, reframing issues and developing options, making referrals, working with disputants, and assisting students to help themselves.  This office is not an authoritative or final decision maker but is a confidential and informal information resource, opens channels of communication, complaint handler and seeks fair and equitable solutions to problems.  Contact the Ombuds Services Office if you:

• Have a problem at NKU and you don't know how to proceed.
• Find yourself tangled in bureaucratic red tape.
• Need information concerning NKU policies and procedures.
• Need assistance to help resolve or mediate a dispute
• Feel you have been treated unfairly as a result of a University policy or procedure?
• Believe the University has made an error.
• Want to discuss a sensitive question or issue?
• Request information about grievance procedures or your rights at NKU.
• Initial contact for students who feel they have been sexually harassed.
• Have suggestions on how to improve services at the University.
