Dance Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing to UCM and UP 48 hours prior to the scheduled date of the dance. Dances that are scheduled on Friday evening must be canceled by Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday evening dances must be canceled by Thursday at 4:30 p.m. If the RSO fails to notify UCM and UP of a cancellation, the student organization will lose its privilege for holding dances for the remainder of the semester and be assessed charges for two hours of police service (approximately $250), $200 for the DM and forfeit their $50.00 security deposit. The charges will be placed on the RSO account. The RSO officers can be held accountable for delinquent charges associated with an organization's account.
If a dance is canceled and another student group requests to take their date, the three week minimum notice for scheduling dances still applies. Exception to this policy must be approved by OSL and UCM.
UCM will consider acts of God and/or inclement weather in the enforcement of the cancellation provisions.
