About International Business Center
HISTORY
The center was founded in Fall 2005 by the efforts of Dr. Mary Conway Dato-on, Director and Assistant Professor of Marketing. With the support of distinguished Advisory Board Members and Faculty, IBC aspires to meet the needs of the academic, business, and non-profit communities. In July 2007 Dr. Stephen Mueller became Director.
MISSION
International Business Center (IBC) offers state-of-the-art research, teaching, and outreach programs that enhance the NKU community’s global knowledge and cross-cultural skills. Specifically, the NKU International Business Center strives to:
- Enhance knowledge and understanding of international business practices across campus and in the greater Cincinnati community by organizing and participating in exchanges, seminars, and conferences on international business topics.
- Develop academic programs to assist students, faculty and business professionals meet the challenges of operating in multiple international environments in keeping with the spirit of the UN Global Compact.
- Serve as a regional resource for international business teaching, research, and professional development.
- Provide a forum for joint business and academic cooperation in an effort to develop responsible global leaders through education, service, internships, and co-ops.
The International Business Center consists of a three pronged foundation (teaching, research, and community outreach) and is the only comprehensive service offered the Tri-state region. The center focuses on developing globally competitive students prepared for the challenges of today’s business environment. The implementation of the center’s initiatives provides students, faculty, and business leaders throughout the region the opportunity to gain international knowledge and applicable skills to succeed.
