Gary Clayton

Dr. Gary E. Clayton is Professor of Economics and Chair of Economics & Finance. His teaching interests are in the areas of economic education, international economics, and comparative economic systems. Dr. Clayton has authored several economics textbooks for high school, college, and practitioner audiences. He is the recipient of the 2000 Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education, and in 2005 he was the first American to receive an honorary doctorate from the People’s Friendship University of Russia. In 2005-06 he was honored as NKU's Frank Sinton Milburn Outstanding Professor. He earned his masters degree in economics from the University of New Hampshire and his doctorate in economics from the University of Utah.
