General Information
What is Construction Management?
Construction Management is not the skilled trades and crafts. Construction Managers are professionals who coordinate the construction process relying on technical understanding of architectural, engineering, and business related disciples. They are responsible for the management of people, materials, equipment, budgets, schedules, safety, and contracts.
Successful Graduates of NKU's Construction Management program are employed as:
- Cost Estimators
- Superintendents
- Safety Officers
- Project Managers
- Schedulers
- Field Engineers
The mission of the Construction Managment Program at NKU is to provide the tri-state community with the best qualified, most employable construction personnel in the region.

be a construction leader. The new technologies I learned about, the
vast experiences I had and the lessons I learned from my mentors made
my career. The great salary, the company car, the ability to work for
one of the regions top general contractors - I have NKU to thank for it
all!” - Abigail Jack , 2007 Alumni & Business Development Manager, Messer Construction Co. |
| “Just as the most elaborately designed project will fail if a solid
foundation is not first established, so will a career. NKU's
Construction Management program, which is driven by outstanding faculty
and staff, provided me a strong foundation that has supported and
allowed me to build a prosperous and enduring career." - T. Jason Dunaway, Esq., MBA, Contract Manager, Alstorm Power, 2000 Alumni |
