Partnership with Cebu State College - Philippines
As the Cebu State College of Science and Technology (CSCST) in the Philippines instituted a new Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, an agreement was reached to include all the Construction Management courses from the Northern Kentucky University (NKU) Construction Management program. The decision was made to call it a major in Construction Management within the Civil Engineering Degree Program and design it as a five-year degree program. Paul Cooper, Associate Professor in Construction Management at Northern Kentucky University, served as a visiting professor at CSCST during the time of the program formation, from November 12, 2007, to July 1, 2008. The Construction Management (CM) major is the first CM program in the Philippines and is modeled after the program at NKU. Mr. Cooper has taught for 23 years at NKU and has been the developer, program coordinator, and Department Chair of the Construction Management program during this time. During his sabbatical in the Philippines, he team-taught first year courses with the Civil Engineering faculty.
