Dr. Walters Receives Outstanding Junior Faculty Award

Dr. Keith Walters was honored as the recipient of the 2006-2007 Outstanding Junior Faculty Award at the NKU Art's and Sciences Convocation earlier today. Since joining the NKU faculty in 2002, Dr. Walters has been a catalyst for change and innovation within the Department of Chemistry and university, being one of the first faculty to bring on-line testing and home work into the classroom. As well as introducing this technology to the NKU commumity, he also demonstes the technology to other universities. Dr. Walters has received national attention for his novel use of podacsting, video and wikis in the classroom. Dr. Walters is also one of the most productive researchers in the department, having mentored numerous research students who have presented their results at local, regional and national meetings as well appearing in peer reviewed publications. If that were not enough to keep him busy, Dr. Walters is involved with outreach efforts. Each year Dr. Walters makes presentations at local libraries as part of National Chemistry Week. Dr. Walters has also served the university and department with distinction. He has been a member of countless committees and has always worked to improve the department and the quality of students NKU produces.

Make sure you congratulate Dr. Walters when you see him.
