Undergraduate Program for Regional Conference
Eight NKU chemistry students presented their research at the American Chemical
Society Regional Meeting (CERMACS) May 20 - 23, 2007 in Covington, KY. The NKU
Student
Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) sponsored the undergraduate
program for the conference, with over 50 undergraduates from various schools
in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania participating. A major
highlight of the program was the Career Paths in Chemistry Symposium where students
learned about numerous careers outside the traditional laboratory setting. In
addition 2 NKU chemistry students: Whitney Schmidt and Joel Deye received awards
for the poster presentations at the conference.
