Chemistry Department Recognizes Student Acheivements at Banquet

 

On April 11, The Department of Chemistry held its third annual celebration banquet (Link: program.pdf). Held at The Gardens of Park Hills, the event included recogintion of the graduating seniors (Link: seniors) and students being included in the 2006 - 2007 edition of WHO’S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES (Link: Who's who). Induction ceremonies were also held for the Gamma Sigma Epsilon honor society (Link: GSE inductees). Top honors for the evening went to Matt Lauer, who was recognized as the outstanding senior. The SAACS / GSE Chemistry Service Award went jointly to Joel Deye and Matt Lauer.

One of the evening's highlights was Gregg Neal. Neal, an NKU Chemistry graduate (B.A. 1985), is President and founder of Advanced Testing Labs (Link: ATL). Neal spoke of his humble beginnings in the department and how his experiences at NKU prepared him to start and run a successful and rapidly expanding company.
