There are several objectives for this experiment. The first objective is for you to be able to write balanced chemical equations for acid-base reactions and to calculate the molarity of an acid or base solution based on the chemical equation and using experimental data. You are also expected to learn how to calculate percent relative standard deviation. Secondly, you are expected to be able to prime a buret and a pipet and use them to titrate a solution of an acid or base. Lastly, you are expected to learn the terms involved in describing titrations; these terms are: stoichiometry, titrant, analyte, indicator, end point, stoichiometric point, equivalence point, standardized, prime.
