DISCOVERING CHEMISTRY WITH LABORATORY (CHE 105)

General Computer Information

Location of the Computers on campus:

  1. AST 370 OAC computer lab
  2. NS 201 Chemistry computer room ( M-F from 9:00-4:30)
  3. NS 430 Satellite computer lab

Availability of CD-ROMs: Saunder's General Chemistry & Discover the Elements can be checked out from the following locations:

  1. AST 370 Computer Lab: Before giving you the CD-ROM, the lab assistant will ask you for your student ID.
  2. Instructor: You can sign up for sheduled appointments. If you cannot make it to the appointment you must call and reschedule.

Instructions for Using Power Macintosh:
  1. Turn on the computer by pushing the key on the upper right hand corner of the keyboard.
  2. If the monitor remains dark turn it on by pusing the button on the lower right corner of the monior.
  3. Open the CD-ROM drive by pushing the button on the CPU. Place the CD-ROM in the drive and close the drive.
  4. Locate and open the application by double clicking the icon.
  5. Now you are ready to start explore the CD.

Shut-Down:
  1. After you quit out of the application, drag the CD-ROM icon to the Trash icon. This will eject the CD-ROM.
  2. To turn off the computer go up to the Menu bar and click on Special and drag the arrow down to Shut Down. When you let go of the mouse on Shut Down the computer will be turned off.
