Oct 07, 2009 - Four members of the Chase Latino Law Student Association participated in the 13th Annual National Latino/a Law Student Association Conference at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, on September 25-27. The Chase attendees were: Annette Graff, Deifilia Diaz, Zachary Hoskins, and Magdalena Lang.

The theme for this year's conference was "La Fuerza Del Cambio, La Esperanza Del Futuro" (The Power of Change, the Hope of the Future). Chase students participated in several panels and a Saturday morning volunteer event for high school students interested in law school. A welcome lunch was held on Friday at noon and the students had the opportunity to hear an inspiring speech of perseverance and hard work from Judge Patricia Mendoza, Associate Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County. Panels on various topics were held throughout Friday and Saturday.

The event culminated in a Saturday dinner at the Palmer Hotel, where the students stayed during the conference. "I really enjoyed seeing the hundreds of Latino Law students in one location and getting to know students from schools as diverse as Yale, University of Texas to UCLA," said Chase 2L Annette Graff. "I even ran into a former colleague of mine from San Antonio. Latino's in law school are a small group but growing and events like this provide real networking activities for Chase and Chase Latino Law Student Association."
