Sep 21, 2009 - NKU Chase grad John Lucas '79 was recently elected vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary for Union Central, a life insurance company located in Cincinnati. Lucas manages Union Central's legal department, supports Union Central's operations and initiatives and works to prevent and minimize exposure to legal liabilities.

Since joining the company in 1988 as assistant to the corporate secretary, Lucas has held various positions, most recently as second vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary.

Lucas is a graduate of NKU, where he earned a B.S. degree in political science. He earned his M.A. degree in history from Xavier University, and his juris doctorate from Chase. Lucas holds the FINRA Series 6 securities license. He serves as a featured speaker for the insurance section of the American Law Firms Association on in-house attorney matters.
