NKU Chase Students, Alum Contribute to Human Trafficking Study

Aug 20, 2009 - Recent Chase alum Christina Strasel '09 and three current Chase students helped to research and draft a recent study on human trafficking. The study was part of a volunteer project led by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. According to Strasel, this was the first city-specific human trafficking study in the country. Strasel participated in the project as part of a Chase Summer Fellowship that she received for the summer of 2008.

2L Sara Kelley and 3L's Aaron Manter and Angel Zachel also contributed to the project, working under the leadership of Dinsmore & Shohl partner Debbie Lydon.

The study found, among other things, that human trafficking (which includes forced labor and sex trafficking) exists in the greater Cincinnati area and there is a resulting need for tougher laws, training and education. The complete report may be viewed at the link below.
