Chase Students Attend Federalist Society Symposium

May 26, 2009 - Chase students Grant Swartzentruber, Alan Henderson and Josh Brown recently attended the Federalist Society National Student Symposium held at Yale Law School titled, 'Separation of Powers in American Constitutionalism.' Many of the nation's leading academics, practitioners, and judges attended, along with 600 Federalist Society students from law schools across the country.

Panel discussions during the two days were: Is the Separation of Powers Principle Exportable?; Confirmation Battles and Presidential Nominations; The Administrative State and the Constitution; and War Powers and the Executive. On Saturday morning, The Hon. R. Edward Cruz, former Solicitor General of Texas, debated Medellin v. Texas with Yale Law Dean Harold Hongju Koh. The Honorable Laurence H. Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit delivered the keynote address.
