Profile

Professor Yzenbaard received her J.D. degree from the University of Michigan College of Law and her B.A. from Hope College (Holland, Michigan) with majors in Political Science and Latin. She was an associate with the Cincinnati firm of Taft, Stettinius and Hollister (Cincinnati, Ohio) and with Dykema & Gossett (Detroit, Michigan). Currently, she is an inactive member of the Kentucky and Ohio bar associations.

Professor Yzenbaard has been a member of the Chase faculty since 1975. Professor Yzenbaard visited at The University of Alabama School of Law (Spring 2007); at The University of Tennessee School of Law (Summer 2006) and at The Cumberland School of Law of Samford University (Spring 2005). She was presented with the coveted Lukowsky Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1997, 1995, 1993, 1990 and 1982.

Professor Yzenbaard has agreed to be the named updater of one volume of the multi-volume treatise Bogert on Trusts (dealing with constructive trusts) which will be forthcoming in 2009. She is also the author of Kentucky Intestacy, Wills and Probate (Thomson West 2004), Residential Real Estate Transactions (Clark Boardman and Callaghan 1991) and Kentucky Real Estate Sales Contracts-with forms (2nd ed Harrison 1995). She wrote two chapters for Thompson on Property, Thomas Edition (Michie 1994), one which discusses Antarctica and the other the US territories. She has also written several law review articles.

Professor Yzenbaard chairs and is a member of the Real Property Drafting Committee for the Multi-State Bar Examination of the National Conference of Bar Examiners. She teaches Property, Modern Real Estate Transactions and Wills and Trusts.

Her family includes her husband who is a partner at Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister; a daughter and son-in-law who live in Boston; and a cat, Echo II.
