Oct 21, 2009 - The Center for Excellence in Advocacy and the Legal Association of Women are pleased to welcome Kathy Groob. Groob will offer a presentation to students on the topic, "Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling."

Kathy has held high level positions in a number of companies, in addition to serving in public office. She served as a Vice President of Paul Hemmer Companies, where her leadership resulted in the creation of over eighty new jobs. She was responsible for developing new products and services, business acquisitions, strategic planning, and marketing communications for the company. In addition, Kathy handled market research and customer satisfaction studies, as well as sales support, training, and public relations. She was also responsible for the community and professional involvement activities of Paul Hemmer Companies and its staff.

Prior to joining Paul Hemmer Companies, Kathy was Vice President and co-owner of Groob Consulting. She worked with a variety of clients based in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as well as nationwide. One of those clients was Paul Hemmer Companies with whom she maintained a working relationship since 1983. Before entering her professional marketing consulting career, Kathy was Director of Marketing for Graham, Obermeyer & Partners, Ltd., structural engineering firm, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Through various community and education organizations, Kathy has devoted herself to public service. She has previously served as an elected official in the City of Ft. Mitchell, where she worked to ensure the city's fiscal health, public safety, citizen services, and quality of life.
