Professor Jon Garon, Hamline University School of Law

Sep 23, 2009 - Join the TLPC and Professor Jon Garon for his informative presentation, "Shaping Culture: Intellectual Property and Social Media."

The intellectual property regimes of copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and publicity rights provide the legal framework for American culture: film, music, TV, news, video games, arts and education. The explosion of social media has stressed these legal systems, transforming the paradigms of both law and culture. Prof. Garon will explore the forces shaping the culture we watch, create and enjoy.

Garon is a nationally recognized authority on intellectual property, particularly copyright law, entertainment practice, cyberspace, and intellectual property entrepreneurship.

You won't want to miss this presentation!

PIZZA WILL BE SERVED!

Additionally, from 5pm to 6pm Professor Garon will host a

small group workshop on, "Fundamentals of Intellectual Property." This small group discussion is for anyone interested in Intellectual Property law, as Prof. Garon will give a basic overview of IP and will then host a Q & A session.
