Current research interests include factors
driving "bark-stripping" in Rocky Mountain bristlecone pinecanopy
uptake and allocation of nitrogen by conifers, ecophysiology of red
cedar, the effect of the invasive Amur honeysuckle on forest understory
herbs, and the effects of calcium deficiency on ecophysiology of trees.
Recently,
I've been developing a relatively new technique called Fuzzy
Set Ordination (FSO) for use with various kinds of plant community
data. I am also conducting research on undergraduate
student learning.
