Evolution Day at NKU With an increasing interest in understanding the relationships and diversity of life, and how organisms came to be in their current form, the Science Departments of Northern Kentucky University in partnership with Sunrock Farm of Northern Kentucky offer a day of learning in evolutionary processes. To offer a breadth of education, NKU will present six mini-courses and Sunrock Farm three short tours that give explanations of the great diversity among organisms and how they have changed over time. The NKU mini-courses include: The Sunrock Farm tours include: The Nature of Science Each session will last approximately 30 minutes. Each student group will see two to three of the six mini-courses at NKU, with class discussion used for students to share what they learned with others that did not see a particular mini-course. Student Teams at NKU and Sunrock Farm will switch, so everyone can participate in the activities at both locations. Undergraduate NKU Biology students volunteered their time to help with this event. This is a regular event held every semester (typically late November and early May) as an outreach to the community and regional schools. If you are interested in involving your students please contact Dr. Richard Durtsche at durtsche@nku.edu or (859) 572-6637.
