Informatics is the study of information technology in a context.

The Business Informatics Department at NKU offers two complementary contexts for the study and application of information technology: Business and Healthcare. Business Informatics is the study of information technology in the context of business. Health Informatics is the study of information technology in the context of the broad health care industry. These programs focus on the broad information systems aspect of business theory and practice. You will develop skills in:

  • automating business processes
  • managing information functions
  • quantitative analysis and decision making

    Business Informatics - With a Bachelor of Science (BIS) or Master of Science (MBI) degree in Business Informatics from NKU, you will find yourself in high demand as a:
    • business process analyst
    • project manager
    • systems analyst
    • systems designer
    • database specialist

    Your BIS and MBI degrees are business-oriented degrees and are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This means more to prospective employers because this accreditation places our program among the top 15% business schools in the world today.

    The NKU Business Informatics programs focus on the broad information systems aspect of business theory and practice. You will develop skills in:
