We invite you to investigate the opportunities that are available to you as a student of biological sciences at Northern Kentucky University.  Discover what the world is really about!

Students graduating with degrees in biological sciences proceed to a variety of careers.  Many biology majors go on to medical, dental, veterinary or graduate schools.  Others take research positions with industry or government agencies.  Still others enter the teaching profession.

programs of study:

Students majoring in biology pursue a rigorous curriculum that includes required courses in chemistry, physics and mathematics.  In consultation with an advisor, students choose the appropriate sequence of biology courses.  The following programs and areas of emphasis are available to help students achieve individual educational goals:

  • General Biology
  • Teacher Education in Biology
  • Pre-Wildlife Management 
  • Pre-Forestry
  • Forensic Science

An interdiciplinary degree in Environmental Sciences is also available.
