NKU COMPETES AT BELLARMINE

Niemer captures second-place honors for Norse

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University cross country teams competed at the Chris Jones Memorial Invitational on Saturday, and both squads took third place in their respective events.

The NKU men were led by sophomore Greaham Niemer, who captured second-place honors in the eight-kilometer race with a time of 28:30. The Norse’s Doug Fulmer finished seventh with a time of 29:06, while teammates Denny Kramer (11th place, 29:27) and Justin Clark (21st place, 30:23) also placed among the top 25 finishers.

NKU sophomore Tracy Inman took third-place honors in the women’s five-kilometer race with a time of 20:32. Freshman Jessie Gehner finished seventh with a time of 21:02, while senior Anna Moore took eighth place with a time of 21:10.

NKU’s Lisa Sand placed 20th with a time of 23:04, while teammate Kristen Rose completed the race in 24:05 (24th place).

NKU will participate in the Hanover Invitational next Saturday.
