HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball players Kristin Koralewski and Cammi Welter have been named All-Great Lakes Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Koralewski, a junior outside hitter and a native of Muskego, Wis., recorded a team-leading 580 kills this season and helped NKU post a 26-12 record. She also led the Norse in digs (487) and hitting percentage (.328).

In addition, Koralewski was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year. She also recorded 26 double-doubles this season and finished No. 2 on the team with 55 service aces.

Welter, a senior right-side hitter and a graduate of McAuley High School in Cincinnati, finished with 503 kills and 101 blocks this season. She also had 50 service aces and earned All-Great Lakes Region honors for the second straight season.

A first team All-GLVC selection, Welter ended her career No. 5 on the NKU all-time list with 1,535 kills. She helped NKU to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament finals last week at Marquette, Mich., where the Norse dropped a three-game decision to Grand Valley State University.

The NCAA Division II All-America selections will be announced during the first week of December.
