NKU junior named GLVC co-Player of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Kristin Koralewski has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in volleyball.

Koralewski, a junior outside hitter and a native of Muskego, Wis., totaled 24 kills, 19 digs and a .561 hitting percentage in two matches last week as NKU clinched the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Tournament with a pair of three-game sweeps.

She started with 15 kills and 10 digs Friday night as NKU defeated defending GLVC champion University of Southern Indiana, 30-20, 30-22, 30-24, in Regents Hall. Koralewski also finished with a .500 hitting percentage and two blocks in that match and upped her season’s double-double count to 24.

On Saturday, Koralewski finished with nine kills, nine digs, four service aces and a .692 hitting percentage as the Norse defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College in three games.

It is the third time this season that Koralewski was won or shared the GLVC Player of the Week honor. She shared this week’s award with Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville’s Kindra Westendorf.

For the season, Koralewski leads NKU in kills (496), digs (430) and hitting percentage (.340). She ranks No. 3 in the GLVC in kills per game (4.32) and No. 4 in hitting percentage.
