Notre Dame Academy standout to play for Norse

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Former Notre Dame Academy volleyball standout Andrea Lanham, who earned Player of the Year honors from The Kentucky Post last season, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play for the Norse this fall.

Lanham, a 5-foot-9 setter and a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame, led the Pandas to the state finals last season. Notre Dame lost to Louisville Assumption in the championship match of the state tournament in 2002.

Lanham was named first team All-State last season, and she also earned district most valuable player honors. A two-year starter at setter for Notre Dame, Lanham was named all-tournament during the state finals in 2002.

Lanham will join an NKU team that posted a 22-10 record last year. The Norse will open the 2003 season on Aug. 29 at the University of North Florida Labor Day Classic at Jacksonville, Fla.
