WRIGHT STATE GIVES NKU FIRST LOSS OF SEASON

 

DAYTON, Ohio - The Wright State University women’s tennis team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 6-3, on Tuesday to give the Norse their first loss of the season.

NKU took a 2-1 lead after the three doubles matches, but Wright State won five of the six singles matches to capture the victory. NKU sophomore Jamie O’Hara remained unbeaten (10-0) this season at No. 1 singles by defeating Melissa Dunham-Freer, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.

NKU will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., this Friday to compete in the GLVC Championships. NKU is the defending GLVC champion, and the Norse earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament by finishing 10-0 in the GLVC this fall.

NKU will face Saint Joseph’s in the first round on Friday.
