NKU CLINCHES GLVC TOP SEED

Norse wrap up fourth straight unbeaten GLVC regular season

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis team clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday with a pair of road wins against the University of Missouri-St. Louis (9-0) and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (7-2).

NKU wrapped up its fourth consecutive unbeaten GLVC regular season with the two victories and extended its win streak against GLVC opponents to 48. NKU has not lost to a GLVC foe since Lewis University posted a 5-4 win against the Norse during the 1997 GLVC Championships.

NKU senior Jamie O’Hara posted a pair of wins in No. 1 singles competition Saturday and is now 42-0 all-time against GLVC opponents. O’Hara is the three-time GLVC Player of the Year.

NKU - the three-time defending champion of the GLVC - is 9-1 overall, 9-0 in the GLVC. The Norse will begin defense of their GLVC title Oct. 12 at Indianapolis, Ind.
