NKU TO MEET SIUE THIS FRIDAY |

Norse aim for fifth straight GLVC championship |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens tennis team will meet Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville at 9 a.m. Friday in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at St. Louis, Mo. NKU enters the tournament with a 5-4 conference record, and the Norse are the No. 5 seed. NKU owns four consecutive GLVC titles. SIUE is 6-3 and the No. 4 seed. The Cougars snapped NKUs GLVC win streak at 51 straight matches earlier this season with a 6-3 victory against the Norse in Highland Heights, Ky. The winner of the NKU/SIUE match will likely face unbeaten and top-seeded University of Indianapolis in the semifinals. Junior Elizabeth Brunsman enters the tournament with an 8-0 record in singles competition. Sophomore Lindsay England is 7-1 in singles, while sophomore Jessica Smith owns a 6-2 record. |
