NKU LOSES IN NCAA TOURNEY |

Norse drop 5-0 decision to Northwood (Mich.) |

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Northwood (Mich.) University womens tennis team posted a 5-0 win over Northern Kentucky University in the NCAA II Midwest Regional on Saturday. Northwood started off quick on Saturday, winning all three doubles matches. Carina Kaempfer and Lisa Neugebauer were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 8-2, winning the final six games. Berenice Ferrer and Helena Kotaskova also claimed an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, and Eva Mineva and Sara Smith posted an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. Northwood improved to 17-4 and advances to the NCAA II national finals at Kansas City, Mo. NKU, making its third appearance in the NCAA Tournament during the past four years, finished the season at 17-9. Jamie OHara, Amity Chapman and Christina Dausch - NKUs senior trio who helped the Norse win four straight Great Lakes Valley Conference championships - completed their careers on Saturday. During that trios four years, NKU posted a 63-23 record and was unbeaten (51-0) against GLVC opponents. OHara earned GLVC Player of the Year honors four straight seasons for the Norse.
