NKU TENNIS OPENS SEASON WITH VICTORIES

Norse defeat Saint Joseph’s, Lewis

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis team opened the season Saturday by winning a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference road matches.

The Norse posted a 5-0 win over Saint Joseph’s College, and later bested Lewis University by a 6-3 score. NKU is now 2-0.

Freshman Kari Goodrich won twice at No. 3 singles for NKU.

2. Goodrich/Renae Wright (NKU) defeated Katie Davet/Christie Lazette, 8-1.

3. Heather Gilmore/Jessica Smith (NKU) defeated Candace Northam/Christie Van Eyk, 8-0.

4. Renae Wright (NKU) defeated Daphne Hill, 1-6, 6-3,6-0.

5. Lindsay England (NKU) defeated Lauren Koveleski, 6-0, 6-1.
