NKUS MOORE NAMED GLVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University womens soccer player Betsy Moore has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year by the league coaches.
Moore, a sophomore forward and a graduate of McAuley High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, has scored a GLVC-leading 21 goals and added 10 assists this season. She has also led NKU to a 20-2 record and to its first NCAA Division II Tournament berth.
In addition to Moore, NKU sophomore goalie Lauren Piening and sophomore midfielder Tricia Ruark also earned first team All-GLVC honors. Piening owns 15 shutouts and a 0.49 goals against average, and Ruark has scored 14 goals.
NKU placed three players - sophomore back Amanda Trout, freshman forward Kristen Noakes and sophomore midfielder Lori Kevill - on the All-GLVC second team.
