HANCK EARNS GLVC WEEKLY HONOR

Norse sophomore named GLVC co-Player of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Katie Hanck has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in women’s soccer.

Hanck, a sophomore midfielder and a graduate of Fairfield High School, scored a goal Friday night and assisted the winning score on Sunday to lead the Norse to a key GLVC road sweep of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Southern Indiana. Hanck’s goal on Friday sparked NKU’s 2-1 win at Missouri-St. Louis.

On Sunday with the score tied at 1-1 against Southern Indiana and less than five minutes left, Hanck beat her defender, dribbled the ball to the end line and launched a perfect cross that led to Laurel Chalk’s tie-breaking goal in NKU’s 2-1 triumph. NKU is now 45-0-4 against GLVC teams during the past four years.

Hanck shared the GLVC honor with Bellarmine University’s Danielle Polce.
