Martins goal gives NKU its eighth consecutive win |

WILDER, Ky. - Jeanna Martins goal eight minutes into overtime Sunday gave the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team a 1-0 victory over the University of Indianapolis at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Martins goal - a rebound shot that beat UI goalie Linn Rolstad - gave NKU its eighth consecutive victory. Tricia Ruark and Amanda Trout both assisted on the winning shot by Martin. The Norse improved to 9-1 overall, 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Goalie Lauren Piening recorded the shutout for NKU and had three saves. The Norse are ranked No. 3 nationally in the Division II poll. NKU 1, UI 0 (ot) GOALS: NKU-Martin. SHUTOUT: Piening (3 saves). RECORDS: NKU 9-1, 4-0 GLVC; UI 4-6, 2-2 GLVC. |
