NKU DEFEATS NEBRASKA-OMAHA, 4-0
Norse improve to 2-1 with victory
WILDER, Ky. - Bessie Black scored two goals Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated the University of Nebraska-Omaha, 4-0, in the first round of the NKU Soccer Classic at Town & Country Sports Complex.
Jeanna Martin opened the scoring for NKU just more than two minutes into the match with a goal off an assist from Tricia Ruark. Ruark finished the match with three assists.
The Norse built a 3-0 halftime lead as Betsy Moore and Black also scored goals in the first half. Black finished off the scoring with a goal late in the match as NKU improved to 2-1 and handed Nebraska-Omaha (2-1) its first loss of the season.
NKU will return to action at noon on Sunday with a match against Lincoln Memorial University - which lost a 2-1 decision to the University of Findlay in the other tournament match Friday.
