No. 4 NKU wins sixth consecutive match |

QUINCY, Ill. - Jeanna Martin and Betsy Moore scored goals early in the second half Sunday as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated Quincy University, 4-0. NKU, now 7-1, 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a goal by Denise Kunz 15 minutes into the match. Martin gave the Norse a 2-0 lead at the 54:37 mark with a goal assisted by Tricia Ruark, and Moore made it 3-0 one minute later with a goal off an assist by Bessie Black. Kristin Benson closed out the scoring with 10 minutes remaining with a goal off a direct kick. NKU, ranked No. 4 nationally in the Division II poll, has now won six consecutive matches since a 5-3 loss at Missouri-Rolla on Aug. 27. NKU 4, QUINCY 0 GOALS: NKU-Kunz, Martin, Moore, Benson. SHUTOUT: Piening, Zalla (2 saves). RECORDS: NKU 7-1, 2-0 GLVC; Quincy 2-4, 0-2 GLVC. |
