NKU IMPROVES TO 4-0 WITH 6-1 WIN |

Norse defeat W. Va. Wesleyan to remain unbeaten |

WHEELING, W. Va. - Kristen Noakes scored two goals Friday as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan College, 6-1. Bessie Black added three assists for NKU, ranked No. 2 nationally in the latest NCAA Division II poll. Stephanie Sandfoss assisted both goals by Noakes as NKU improved to 4-0 with the victory. NKU is now 18-0-2 during its last 20 regular-season matches. The last team to defeat the Norse in a regular-season match was the University of Missouri-Rolla, which posted a 5-3 win against NKU on Aug. 27, 2000. NKU will meet Wheeling Jesuit University at 11 a.m. Sunday. |
