NKU standout named GLVC co-Player of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer player Bessie Black has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week. Black scored three goals Saturday - including the winner with less than 15 minutes remaining in regulation - as NKU defeated the University of Findlay, 4-2. Black, a Scott High School graduate who now has seven goals this season, broke a 2-2 tie at the 76:24 mark with a score. She added another goal late to ice the win for NKU, which improved to 3-0. It marked the second time this season that Black has scored three goals in a match. She began the season by scoring three goals during a 10-0 win against Northwood (Mich.) University. Black shared the GLVC honor with Bryanna Jurvis from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
