NKU IMPROVES TO 9-0 WITH 7-1 WIN |

No. 1 Norse defeat Hillsdale to remain perfect |

WILDER, Ky. - Betsy Moore and Bessie Black both scored two goals Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated Hillsdale (Mich.) College, 7-1, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Hillsdale (4-4) took a 1-0 lead at the 29:47 mark when Shanna Pendleton knocked in rebound shot, but Moore tied the match at 1-1 one minute later by weaving her way past the Charger defense for an unassisted goal. Black scored a pair of goals before halftime as NKU took a commanding 4-1 lead at the break. Tricia Ruark, Kristen Noakes and Jeanna Martin all added goals for NKU. NKU, now 9-0 overall, is ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse are 23-0-2 during their last 25 matches in the regular season. The last team to defeat the Norse in a regular-season match was the University of Missouri-Rolla, which posted a 5-3 win against NKU on Aug. 27, 2000. |
