FINDLAY, Ohio - Bessie Black scored three goals Saturday - including the winner with less than 15 minutes remaining in regulation - as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated the University of Findlay, 4-2. Black, who now has seven goals this season, broke a 2-2 tie at the 76:24 mark by finding the net off an assist from Kristen Noakes. Black added another score late to ice the win for NKU, which improved to 3-0. It marked the second time this season that Black has scored three goals in a match. She began the season by scoring three goals during a 10-0 win against Northwood (Mich.) University. Betsy Moore also added a goal for the Norse, who are ranked No. 2 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Jeanna Martin had two assists for NKU, and Carey Hebbeler added one assist. The Norse outshot Findlay, 30-7. |
